To assist mothers in accurate preparation of oral fluid mixtures at home, some recommend the use of a standardized spoon, three examples of which are shown in this slide. These plastic spoons have a large receptacle at one end for sugar and a small receptacle at the other end for salt. Instructions for use are printed or embossed on the spoon.
