Slide 11 - As soon as the signs of dehydration have disappeared, maintenance therapy should be started to replace continuing losses of water and electrolytes (continuing diarrhoea).

As soon as the signs of dehydration have disappeared, maintenance therapy should be started to replace continuing losses of water and electrolytes (continuing diarrhoea). Patients with mild diarrhoea may be given maintenance therapy at home; those with severe diarrhoea should remain in a treatment facility until the diarrhoea becomes milder.
