This table is a guide indicating how patients with mild to moderate dehydration should initially be treated with ORS solution to replace the body's abnormal losses (rehydration). Patients with mild dehydration, regardless of age, should receive 50 milliliters per kilogram of body weight within four hours, and those with moderate dehydration should receive twice as much. Note that the total volume and rate initially required will vary from patient to patient depending on individual factors.
