Oral Rehydration Therapy:
The Drink that Saved My Daughter's Life

"When Munni first got diarrhoea, I didn't worry too much ... I thought she was just teething. But by next morning, she had become so weak, she couldn't even sit up! My neighbour, Sheela, told me that Munni's body was beginning to dry up, and that her life could be in danger! I was stunned. I didn't know that diarrhoea could be dangerous. Sheela told me that I ought to give Munni a special drink to prevent her body from drying up. She showed me how to mix the drink with a little salt, sugar and water. I spoon-fed the drink to Munni after every loose motion. And would you believe it? By evening, Munni was already much better! Now I tell my friends about the special drink and how it saved Munni's life."
